Here's a little tip to choose halal food:

Search food wrappings there logo halalnya. When there is no food logo, look at the ingredient, any materials contained therein.
When you want to purchase a meal at a restaurant for example in the food court or hawker stalls there, look for the halalnya logo. Ask if there is a halal certificate from MUIS or not.
Search homes packed fast-food restaurant (fast food) famous, such as KFC, McD, Pizza Hut and Burger King.

Indeed many food stalls that reads "No Pork no Lard", however this does not guarantee that the food served is halal. Ask the seller if the kiosks have a halal certificate or not.
